Upsy Daisy

Hi ladies...

I am sooo happy I got this set Upsy Daisy when it was on sale this past month. I am loving the techniques you can do with the silhouettes stamps. The new Urban Garden DSP paper is quickly becoming one of my favorites. I love the color combination in this set. These are two cards I made using some new in colors and the new dsp from Urban Garden!

Hope you like them!!

I'm BACK! :)

Hi everyone...

Sorry that is has been almost ONE month since my last post. This past month has been filled with doctor appts., dh had shoulder surgery, parents flew in to visit and help out, more physical therapy appts.. and so forth. I had to let my blog take a back seat for a while. Things should be settling down now (except for the pt appts) and I should be able to post regularly again. Hope you are still visiting my blog :)

Seashells on the sea shore ......

Hi Everyone,

I tried my hand at yet another one of MZ's creations. Are you getting tired of seeing them??? lol This image is from the retired set sweet seasons. I love this set because there are 4 images and one of them is a snowman!!! For those of you that don't know I LOVE snowman so any set that has one in it is alright by me :)

The colors used on this card are tempting turquoise, baja breeze, soft sky, creamy caramel, close to cocoa, white gel pen. The canvas background that is still current was used over the entire image.

Thanks for looking!

Another Zindorf inspired card...

I just love her work and how she takes and makes a scene with her stamps. This is another one similar to hers. I didn't have the exact stamp set nor colors that she used but I am happy with the way it turned out. Hope you agree :)

The stamp images I used are from the Lovely as a Tree set, and the new set Inspired by Nature. I really like the grass image from the inspired by nature set. The colors I used were bashful blue, old olive, lavender lace, always artichoke, close to cocoa and whisper white.

Thanks for looking!!

Inspired by Nature....

Hi Everyone!

Today I actually had time to stamp. It has been a little bit since I have stamped anything so I am happy to have a new card and picture for you. I love Michelle's work and wanted to try the techniques myself so I grabbed a new set and went to work. If you haven't tried using your brayer you really need to give it a try!

These are the cards that my friend and I completed. We really love the way they turned out! Ya wanna guess which one I did?? LOL

The colors of cardstock that were used were Pacific Point, Baja Breeze, More Mustard, Black, Barely Banana & Brown. The grass is from the new stamp set Inspired by Nature. I just LOVE LOVE LOVE this set. The arrows are from the arrow punch by SU. All products are Stampin UP! If you have any questions just email me!

DSP Gift bag..

Hi Ladies

Seem things never slow down enough lately for me to regularly update my blog :( I needed a quick gift bag to take over to my girlfriends house last night. It was her birthday recently and I had a stamp set she had been wanting so I gave it to her. All the quick little totes and bags I kept seeing online weren't big enough to put it in. So I remembered learning how to do this bag from my adopted upline. I hope you like it :)

It is made with 2 sheets of DSP so the dimensions of the bag are pretty big. I was able to put in the stamp set, tissue paper and card with plenty of room to spare. When I took it over to her house she loved it and I think was surprised when I told her I made it out of DSP. She then wanted the DSP paper but it is retired :( I still have some in my stash that I am going to give her ..wink wink.

Thanks for looking!

Pictures as promised!!

Here are two of the make and takes that I did at convention.  The first one is one of those white paper totes that SIMG_2571U sells covered in DSP.  It is the new in color Tangerine Tango :)  The ribbon is the NEW so saffron twill, it is soooo soft and pretty.   I am loving this stamp set Inspired  by Nature.  It is a double mounted stamp so its like having 2 background stamps on one block!  When I first got the set I wasn't to sure about it, but since I have used it a few times I can say its going to be a favorite!!

The next picture is of a quick 8 x 8 scrapbook page.  Uses the new flower fusion felt flower in bajIMG_2572a breeze.  LOVE THEM!!  Thanks for looking!!

Sorry for the absence...

Hi everyone,

I am sorry I haven't posted anything in about 5 days. Things have been crazy since I have been back from convention. I had company, hubby had eye surgery...the good kind. He know doesn't have to wear glasses! He is very excited about it, since about a year ago they said he didn't qualify but the technology has advanced and he qualified! So I had to drive him everywhere for about a week before he was released to drive. During that time our dog had to have surgery as well to have a lump removed off his leg. We had it tested and it was a mast cell tumor so we are happy to have caught it and removed it early on. He still has his stitches in and it is about 3 1/2 to 4 inches long. YUCK! I don't do well with blood. He is doing well even though he wants to lick the stitches.

I promise tomorrow I will post a picture of a couple of items I made while at convention :) Thanks for still checking in, I appreciate it!

Treat Swap....

This is a new set that I received at Convention called..  Flight of the Butterfly.  It will be IMG_2555in the new catalog and you can order it after August 11th.  :)   I love this little treat box.  It just takes one sheet of 8 1/2 x 11" paper.  I used the Bali Breeze card stock with the Bali Breeze ink pad to make my own patterned paper.  Then I used Pacific Point with Kiwi Kiss to stamp the image and mat it. I also used the CAD to punch the holes for the white taffeta ribbon.  I love this color combination :)   If you have any questions just email me :)

Thanks for looking!

Coaster share... :)

I hosted a coaster share (bulk buy) with ladies on SCS, friends, and SU demos.  They have finally arrived and I divided them all up into shipping boxes.  This is what my guest room looks like now.  Good thing my company just left!  This is over 8,000!!! coasters.  About 25 ladies participated in the share.  I can't wait to create some IMG_2560projects to share online with all of you!

I was tagged twice (while at convention) LOL...

bff_award

I was awarded the Blogging Friends Forever award!!  YIPPEE my first award :) This is also the 1st time I have been tagged and I was tagged twice within a day!  The 1st person that tagged me is Jackie.  We frequent each others blogs and she does some great stuff!  The second person that tagged me, (I believe because Jackie tagged her too..lol) is CrisCris and I have become good blogging buddies.  We met on SCS because of our avatar photos.  Cris and I hit it off immediately and have been emailing and chatting since.  Definitely check out both of their blogs TODAY :)

Since I am new at tagging I hope its ok to pass this on for both of them at one time :)

The rules are:
1. Only five people allowed
2. 4 of them have to be dedicated followers of your blog and 1 has to be new and live in another part of the world.
3. You have to link back to who gave you the award.
It was kind of hard to chose who to give the awards to because I'm very new to the whole blogging world and don't think I have too many followers.  But if you are a follower of me... THANKS!!!  It really means a lot to me :)

The award of BFF goes to.......... (drum roll please)

Michelle lives right here in San Antonio, Texas and is a fellow military spouse.  We met on SCS and  have become great stamping pals.  She LOVES to stamp and does a wonderful job at it.

Dragana Skoro lives in Canada (another part of the world ) and has such a wonderful heart. I love the comments she leaves for me on my blog.  Check her blog out for beautiful cards and creations.

Tracy does excellent painting!!  I know its not stamping but for me I stamp because I CAN'T paint.  She is very lucky to have the gift to do both! Check out her fun blog with her painting creations and cards.

Jessica Russell has such a lovely blog.  She is a fellow Stampin Up Demonstrator and does an awesome job creating projects & cards.  She is having a sale on A LOT of her retired sets from SU so check her out for some great buys!

Last but not least..

Heather  I don't know where she can find the time to come up with the cute cards and projects she does.  She works full-time, has 7 kids...YES 7... can you believe that?!?!?

Well there you have it... my list of my blogging friends.. until next time!

Take care and Happy Stamping!!

Making waves with the Scallop Border Punch...

This card is for a swap I am in at the Stampin Up! convention this year.  We are suppose to be making kidIMG_2533 cards.  Since I  don't have any kids of my own I thought this would be a good chance to make up some fun cards.  This idea has been brewing in my head for a while with the new scallop border punch.   When I would punch out the scallop border I kept seeing waving also so I decided to make a card using the scallop border and the scraps from when you punch it!   So what do you think???

I chose to use the new in colors Pacific Point, Riding Hood Red, Baja Breeze and Kiwi Kiss.  I stamped the main IMG_2538image and then cut it out and mounted it with stampin dimensionals.  I also put some dimension under one of the waves and then used the white gel pen to make some white caps.  You can't tell to much from the picture but I also chalked a little blue for the sky along with the yellow for the sun.  Hope you like it!!  :)

Here are pictures of the punch with to me what looks like waves:)

Sneak Peaks and In Color Comparison...

Today I took some pictures of the new "in colors" from SIMG_2494tampin Up!. I think they are going to be some fun colors to work with. I am surprised at how much I am liking the Pacific Point. My friends that know me will think that's odd since I am a "green" person myself. Now don't get me wrong I like Kiwi Kiss too but I like the Pacific Point much better than the Brilliant Blue we have now. Also just to point it out I noticed I spelled Brilliant wrong on the picture and it's a lot of work to change it so I just left it misspelled. Oh well, gives it character...LOL

 IMG_2531
I will be doing a color swatch key ring share starting Aug. 11th  so if anyone is interested email me at jenken03@earthlink.net for the details. Also if you pre-order a NEW catalog for $7.95 (plus $2.00 shipping) you will also receive a coupon for 5 yards FREE of assorted SU grosgrain ribbon with your 1st $50 order through me:) I love new customers... so join the fun!

I will be back later with more sneak peaks so stay tuned!

Stampin Spot "nugget" box...

Hi ladies,

Yeah it's almost the weekend!! That's a good thing and a bad thing as I am still preparing things for an open house I am having this weekend. Today I was working on things for display and little gifts to give out. I was making the nugget boxes to give one to everyone that comes and then it was as if a light bulb went off inside my head. (no comments from the peanut gallery :) I decided to change the dimensions a bit so that I could fit 2 Stampin Spots inside as a cute giveaway prize. Note the stamp, it's from one of the new hostess stamps from the new catalog. I love it!

You could also fit 1 incentive stamp and 1 stampin spot or change the dimensions just a little more and put 3 incentive stamps in it. It was fun to see all the things I could fit into it. I also decided to do a clear cover so that you could see whats inside. Tomorrow I am going to be making the ones with candy...yum yum. If you want the dimensions for these let me know.

Thanks for looking!
